SUNDAY SCHOOL

Gospel Doctrine

This year’s course of study is the Old Testament.

  • Teacher’s Manual
  • Class Member Study Guide

For further study:

  • BYU’s Scripture Discussions are fantastic. Professors of Religion from BYU discuss the Old Testament, section by section.
  • The Church has a wide selection of Old Testament videos. Some are reenactments of Old Testament stories, and others are supplemental. They’re worth looking through, as some of them are really great. There are even older Seminary videos there that are often truly fantastic. They’re divided into sections, so you can peruse.
    • Introduction – Deuteronomy
    • Joshua – Song of Solomon
    • Isaiah – Malachi
  • You may find the Institute manuals helpful, as well.
    • Genesis – 2 Samuel
    • Kings – Malachi
  • BYU Studies has Old Testament articles that are wonderful for deep study. Most are free; newer ones require a subscrition. You will find hours and hours of study here for free.

Youth Sunday School

Come, Follow Me has been updated with new material for this year, including new talks and videos.

Teachers should be using stories and articles from the New Era to support lessons, as well.

Gospel Principles

There are 47 lessons in the Gospel Principles Manual. The lessons need not be taught in any particular order, and teachers should feel free to spend more than one week on any given lesson.

Resources:

  • Teaching in the Savior’s Way
  • Be sure to explore the resources the Church provides for Sunday School Teachers. There are videos and more.
